Leslie
A. Holman is the founder of Holman Immigration Law, a
law firm located in Burlington, Vermont and dedicated
and limited to the practice of immigration and nationality
matters. She represents both corporate and individual
clients and assists them in achieving their immigration
objectives.
Ms. Holman received her BA from Clark University in 1983.
She was awarded a J.D. with honors from Hofstra University
School of Law in 1987. As a first year law student she
won the Law Review’s writing competition and was
then elected as a member of the Law Review. She is a member
of the New York and Vermont bar associations, and the
American Immigration Lawyer’s Association (AILA)
Ms. Holman was selected for inclusion in the 2003-2004
edition of Who's Who in American Law.
Ms. Holman currently serves as the Liaison for AILA's
New England Chapter to the Citizenship and Immigration
Service's Vermont Sub Office in St. Alban's, Vermont and
to the Highgate Springs Port of Entry located on the U.S./Canadian
border.
In addition to managing
an active law practice, Ms. Holman is also involved
in several community activities that promote and benefit
immigration related initiatives. She is a member of
the Flynn Theater's Programming Committee and she and
the firm have a strong commitment to introducing, sponsoring,
and promoting the work of foreign artists. This year
the firm is sponsoring and showcasing the works of Baba
Maal, a singer and musician from Senegal, West Africa.
Ms. Holman also provides community support for the area's
local immigrant population and legal community by lecturing
on current immigration topics. Ms. Holman hosts a bi-monthly
immigration advocacy forum for local legislators, public
defenders, representatives of the Vermont Law School,
and refugee assistance organizations.
On
the personal side, Ms. Holman studies African dance
and drum and she is an avid telemark skier. She shares
her home with her husband Andy, her two children, Amanda
and Zach, and several pets. Her Bearded Collie Merlin,
accompanies her to the office every day and serves as
the firm's good will liaison. |
